Sun sheds light on Yuntaa

We’re extremely honoured that Sun Microsystems, one of our esteemed partners, has put some spotlights on Yuntaa by profiling us in its Customer Snapshot feature.

Here’s how they described our service:

“Yuntaa is a Belgian Web 2.0 platform where users from around the world can store, manage, and share a variety of digital files such as photos, music, and videos. “Yuntaa” is Spanish slang for “alternative,” and the company prides itself in being an alternative choice on the Web. The online service combines the best of Web 2.0 applications with the security and benefits of online storage and backup. Founded in 2006, Yuntaa released its online solutions in June 2007 and continues to expand its base of 30,000 users.”

In the piece, you’ll find more information about the challenges of building a service as versatile and scalable as Yuntaa, and the solutions that allowed us to meet them head-on.

With the help of another partner of ours, Axio Systems, which is a Sun Certified Partner in Belgium, we’ve replaced commodity hardware with scalable and reliable Sun technology including Sun Blade X6250 Server Modules. We’re also running a highly scalable Oracle Database 11g solution based on a Sun SPARC Enterprise M4000 server. Sun storage technology provides increased data protection and simplified administration.

New Release Coming Today …

Dear users,

This afternoon at approximately 15h30 GMT+1 we will be updating the Web Site with some long awaited changes and features you’ve requested from us. There will be a brief interruption in the services during this update, and as always we’ll be back online as quickly as possible.
While the upgrade is happening it’ll be a good chance for you to stretch your legs, go outside and get some fresh air, and be happy – Spring has sprung and warmer weather is on it’s way!

Scheduled maintenance this Friday, March 20th

Dear users,

It’s that time again for another brief interlude to update the system and make sure we’re providing the best service to you. To do this, we’ll be taking a short breather this Friday March 20th around 15:00 (GMT+1). These extremely exciting and adventurous interventions usually take between 45 minutes and 2 hours, so enjoy a nice long lunch break on Friday afternoon while we slave away in the climate-controlled data center. We’ll be thinking of you sitting in the sun with your favorite beverage and do our best to get the intervention done quickly and accurately.

Yuntaa launches Belgian marketing campaign

On 20 December 2008, Yuntaa launched a print and online marketing campaign in Belgium hand in hand with One Agency.

The campaign focuses on the emotional value that the files on a PC can have for someone. No one would like to go through losing their precious memories (be they photos, videos, ancient recipes, or any other file of such value). In this way, Yuntaa offers a solution that not only keeps these memories safe, but allows you to also share these with the people you choose.

The theme of the campaign is “Mooie Momenten. Die wil je houden.” or “Beautiful Moments. You don’t want to lose them.”. It runs both in offline and online media such as: De Standaard, Het Nieuwsblad en Clickx.

Final updates being done today
